Days of Darkness Prior To Flowering & Harvest?

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on giving a plant 1-3 days of darkness before changing to 12/12 for flowering? I ask because I have to go away for 3 days and don't trust my sketchy cab grow in fear of a fire. So... i'm planning to leave the lights off plant is about 20cm high and is an experiment but I do expect a yeild not matter how small so i'm changing to 12/12 on monday. If it is well watered before I go should this be an issue?

If that'll be your start of flowering, the darkness should be just fine. It may jump them into flowering, which sounds right on track with what you're planning. Even if not, though, if fire's a concern, be safe. Being sorry would just suck way too much to risk it.

I'd also recommend watering the day before you leave. That way, your roots aren't sitting in water for a few days of darkness, which wouldn't be good.Give you plants time to take in the water before you put the lights out.
