Greetings everyone.
If you have read my thread from a few years ago regarding spectrum in different stages you will know it never got answered with solid evidence. So its time I run a commercial side by side to give some final numbers, data and lab results to put this to rest. I hope one day this will become a sticky here for future growers, as well as I hope we can translate this to LED at some point to run the same test to see how it compares with the different technology of light.
Okay, so here is the criteria I will be working with.
Space
2 x 20x20 Grow Space's
Room 1: 3 Gallon Air Pots Coir
Room 2: Aeroponics
12 1,000w DE Nanolux Fixtures per room
9 Plants Per Light
4 Week Veg from Clone of Proven Genetics
Lights 4' above plants
CO2 and AC and Dehue will be in effect. They are closed rooms.
Bulbs:
2100k
4000k
6000k
10,000k
Genetics:
Chocolate Covered Creamiscle Dough ( My Own Strain)
Averages about 7 oz with a 4 week Veg.
Conditions and Setup:
Each room will have 1 bulb in each corner of one of the above Kelvin, so we mitigate any spectra getting into the control corners.
I will run these bulbs from Veg To Harvest Documenting Start and End of Each Week on the progress with each bulb and the things I observe.
At the end of harvest after proper dry and cure I will send a few samples of each to the Lab for anlasis. After I get the results back i will update the growth, node spacing, heights and width of plants in veg and flower, flower sizes, Cannabinoid content, yield for each bulb. I will then give my conclusion after all of the data has been collected.
Hypothesis:
I believe the 6000k will veg better than all of the other Kelvin bulbs.
2100k will give us the best yield.
10,000k will give us the highest potency.
4000k will give a lower yield than 2100k but not significantly, but grow better vegetative, denser and more resinous flowers for a good all around bulb
The Point:
I want to once and for all put this to rest. No more speculation or going by some old grow book, but to see real tested results in two different growing mediums.
In the end I will know which K temp DE Bulbs work best in what stages based on absolute fact. This will then be translated into the entire grow room being overhauled with those bulbs and running a final test with the new bulb Kelvin system, to then get the final results with the new system to get maximum yield vegetative growth, potency and density.
I will update end of the week once I get the clones in there. They are currently in the aerocloner at the moment.
I hope this helps people in the future
