DEA RAIDS ELEVEN COMPASSION CLUBS IN LOS ANGELES

It shows the pathetic quality of the United States Federal system. It completely undermines the IDEA of the federal system. It sickens me to read that one of the most influential and amazing countries in the world cannot sustain a federal government and what it stands for (I'm not from the US, I'm from Ireland, so no malicious comments please!). To make my argument worthwhile I must provide an understanding of America's federal government. The government which we know it, based in Washington D.C., is what is known as a federal government. Essentially it dictates to each state's government what the rules and regulations are. The beauty of this is that each state has the ability to decide for itself wheather to follow these (particular) laws or not. An example is the death penalty. The death penalty was a piece of legislature passed as federal law, meaning each state has the opportunity to abide by this or not. Another, of course, is abortion.
Now, consider what the DEA have done. It states in the article that the DEA do not abide by each state's law. Nice and clear. However in no way understandable. What is the point in having such a government if the local, state and federal government itself cannot work together, as is stated in the article? Surely this is a massive infringement on the inner workings of these bodies? What i personally see it as, and I am in no way a person who jumps to extreme conclusions (OK maybe a little on the ann coulter thread ), but this smells like the workings of a dictatorship to me. These places were doing what they were meant to be doing, growing marijuana for the people that "needed" it (lol arguably but fuck it, none of us need it). what they were doing was legal, there is no dispute about that.
What I am asking for, along with, of course, all of your opinions (and i cannot strain that enough) is the thoughts of someone with more knowledge of the US' federal government, and the implications this has on the people related to the incident, the DEA and of course THAT FUCKING WANKER Bush, if any. Also these bodies involvments. Would he have had anything to do with this? Do the DEA opperate on instructions given directly by the government, or simply the executive? Or do they effectively opperate as an individual with insane and shockingly intrusive and unjust powers? Also i seem to remember some sort of legislature passing involving people allowed to be arrested on suspicion of certain acts.... or was that in the UK? lol forgive my vagueness! Could this have anything to do with it?
I don't think many people with a liberal mind (and i mean that in the definition's sense, not the political) would argue against me that the DEA's acts were disgusting.
If Vi is around I would love you to respond! I really would like to hear what you have to say on this matter as I know you'd probably have a lot! And I'm saying that not because I want an argument, but because i really do want to hear what you have to say
*Weight off shoulders*!!!
