This position is located in the Detroit Field Division, Detroit, MI.


Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


·The incumbent disseminates information pertinent to asset forfeiture policies, regulations, and procedures to defendants, their attorney’s, families, and other interested parties with a right to petition for release or remission.

·Coordinates disposition for a variety of seized assets such as vehicles, jewelry, currency, bank accounts, businesses, real estate, weapons, aircrafts, etc.

·Provides advice to Special Agents regarding all legal matters and requirements to be met in investigative procedures concerning asset seizures, petition assignments and on procedures for disposition of property.

·Reviews and analyzes case procedures to determine adequacy, accuracy, and efficiency of each seizure.

·Provides training/seminars to educate internal as well as local and state enforcement agencies on the process of Asset Forfeiture.

·Serves as point of contact with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the day-to-day coordination and liaison activities that involve DOJ, state and local enforcement agencies.

Drug testing is required for this position. All non-DEA applicants must complete a drug use questionnaire. Applicants who are found, through investigation or personal admission, to have experimented with or used narcotics or dangerous drugs, except those medically prescribed, will not be considered for employment with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Exceptions to this policy may be made for applicants who admit to limited youthful and experimental use of marijuana. Such applicants may be considered for employment if there is no evidence of regular, confirmed usage, and the full-field background investigation and results of other steps in the process are otherwise favorable. Compliance with this policy is an essential requirement of the position.

I figure I don't support government, I don't pay them, I don't agree with them, I will never go out of my way to assault one of them. I feel good know very little of my money ever reaches them. Shouldn't that make me exempt? WTF
