Hiya
I bought some of these just for using in my flat:

Lumen output and spectrum seem ok...running a little experiment with some seeds i picked myself in the Himalayas and so far so good...
I get a lot of torches and bike lights for nighttime mountainbiking from DX and im very happy with them, but they do seem a bit generous with claimed lumen output for the cree bike lights...
Any thoughts?
Cheers

Excellent output if correct. The thing with those corn lights is they emit in too many directions, reflectors must be used and efficiency suffers.

Seems shady. I doubt the lumen output is correct and like @Rahz mentioned above, you would still need reflectors. These might be good for veg or mothers but I serisouly doubt they will give you half way decent bloom. If you want cheap you would do better with the 100w Chinese cobs on eBay. All that being said, cree 3070/3590 are the bees knees and none of the Chinese LEDs even come close

Ok thanks ill check out the cobs....was also thinking it might be possible to disassemble the bulb and remount the individual led strips on a piece of card say 10 x 10 cm. Might work...?

Not really. You would have to mount them on a heat sink. Way more trouble than its worth. You might as well buy single LEDs / cobs and mount them to heatsinks. Check out the DiY led forms, really good stuff there

Those are just 5050 smd chips. Probably bottom of the barrel ones at that. You could just buy strip lighting for a lot less coin.

Use them around your house, not much good for plants since 70% of the light is going in the wrong direction
