death is near it seems... unless of course u can help out

my buddys plants leafs started out by getting brittle and dry at the tips and now are dryed out along the edges and the growth has slowed and center growth is light light green any help? they're in 2nd week in beer cups soil is shwartz potting soil plus. havent cheaked the ph but only used regular water. seems like the other size plants are doing them same any help? or suggestions

Could be from the PH. Marijuana grows best in soil with a PH between 5.9-6.5 and since you wrote that the plants have been watered with "regular water" you should know that usually tap water has a PH of up to 7.5 - 8. It could also be from over feeding the plants with nutrients or the reverse, not feeding them enough (or at all). So it would help if you could give a little more info like: what types of nutrients does he use, 2nd week of what (vegetative growth or flowering?), type of lighting being used.

veg growth 3rd set of new foilage not including starter leafs tips looked burned and a little cupping up towards the light schwartz potting soil plus, nothin special, no nuits as of yet attempting to add 20-20-20 mix to the combination 16 oz cups might be root bound no clue :S cant see threw the cups but they're not tall just short they all seem to get it i thought it was cuz they we're close to the lights maybe but the tomatos might recover now idk advice? bigger pots ? more nuits ?
