Deep Water Culture Growing advice

Hello guys,

A while back i spoke about giving this a go and so i did,

I have a 20ltr bucket with 3 plants and an air stone.

Well from seed grown supergirl and three weeks in very impressed.

Now i just want some advice about the nutes apparently 1/4 strength because the roots are constantly within the water. I have done this and all is well.

Can i ask when i switch to flowering does the same rule apply?

Secondly what would happen if there was too much nutes in the water?

Any help or advice appreciated,

Pretty much, I would say. Stick what what has been working for you. You would only increase strength if you felt growth was slowing.

Your plants will get nute burned. Leaves will start to yellow and possibly crisp up. Might end up with root rot too. Your plants could get nute locked, which means your plants can absorb water and nutrients. Went through some nute burn myself very recently. I'll be erring on the side of caution from now on.

i run a stealth hydro 10 gallon and do not use the pump just water from the top till the roots meet nutes starting at 300ppm first week then go by my ppm meter if there using water are nutes.i use AN sensi grow A and B. dont know about other nutes but this is working for me im at 1000ppm in 4week of grow, switching to bloom and will slowly start the process all over it has worked fine for 2yrs using DM nutes but my friend owns a hydro store and told me to try the AN im very pleased,i also have 4 5 gallon bucketts that work fine just have to watch ph and water level more hope this helps GL.WATER TEMP VERY IMPORTANT....

Great stuff thanks guys,

i so happy with the speed of growth i have got from this system,

i have kept nute strength at a EC value of 1.1 which seems to be fine so i will continue this into flowering but once again great system i love it!

Much easier to grow and less maintenance cool :blsmoke:

Yikes, definitely so. I would flush with plain water for at least a few days(week or two would be best). I used this stuff called Clearex last week to speed up the flushing. Some Superthrive wouldn't hurt either. Are you able to isolate that plant? No sense in doing all of this to the healthy ones too.
