Deficiancy, again.. help

Hi all,

I had issues before due to too much perlite and not enough buffers, since then I have transplanted and fed perfect with ph 6.5 water.
Now almost before flipping to flower, I have some again.. specially on the new strains, the GC have very minor signs.
What is it? all looks the same to me in this early stage...Nitrogen?

I am feeding with Advance nutritions grow A+B, calmag and Advance nutritions Sensizym.
I have no ph lockout.
I am feeding almost every watering.

What can I do to fix that?
Add more N?

What lighting do you use and how strong isit and how far from the tops. From whst I can see some of the lower leaves look greener and that yellow looks like its more on the upper parts and were the light hits other parts of the plants.
Could be they might need a good spray of cal-mag on the leaves at lights off. But best to ask afew others what they think.

Its a led, 2 lamps each 150w. Been working with them for few grows without any issues.

Usually 1100+- ppm, I give the recommended dosage by Advance nutritions.
Yesteray I gave fed a bit more, its was 1400+-

If you’re giving cal/mag in every watering there is a good chance you are choking the plants ability to uptake NPK and secondaries like magnesium by the unbalanced calcium (too much).

My advice:
Water ONLY for the next few waterings . And when you do water make sure the dry back is good but also water heavy till theirs 20% run off that will help sorta flush out the medium without calling it a flush.
Pick up a bag of 4-4-4 Dr earth and worm castings. Add2TBSP per gallon of medium and a cup of worm castings and scratch it in. Switch over to water only. Add calmag in two weeks and only once a week is needed.

If you’re adding 1mL or more per gallon of water every watering of calmag that may be over kill and can lock you
out other nutrients. Hope this helps.


Another tip.
Use epsom salts for sulfur and manganese.
Find a calcium carbonate only product.
this way you can control calcium and mag separately. Most calmag products have nitrogen too. Which is good for veg but less ideal in flower if your plants are already getting a low dose of it from other products

also, having the right microbes and bacteria’s in your medium will help buffer things better.
Consider these products.

Well …

You add calmag to tap water which already has it plus what is already in the nutrients … 3x calmag

What could go wrong ?

Honorable mention:
the 1000ppm prior to flower. The “ feed guides “ are not to be taken as gospel ( they could be numbers from the manufacturer when they tested under their controlled testing ) You should always feed according to plant response not paper numbers. It is a simple plant that needs simple things. Shoving high ppm down its throat and excessive amounts of other amendments lead to antagonizing other elements causing uptake issues or element blocking.
 
Your tacoing top growth tells me that there's too much heat ( usually )

The droopy leaves makes the girls look very uphappy and my gut tells me it's from overwatering or you have a root issue...underwatering... i say definitely Not.

I see you put in around 800ppm and get 400ish coming out...well that also tells me that your medium is very low on nutrients...very low...and needs to be increase...if i put 1000ppm, i want roughly 1000ppm out and then you check on her to see how she is feeding....

Fuck the cal/mag off and just keep it simple with the AB.

Thanks for this detailed answer! I learned a lot.

I don't have access to those products, and I can't order them...
When I skipped feeding, things got much worse...they got better when I started to feed almost each watering.
My soil is a bit problematic this time.. too much perlite.

For bacteria I am using micorize, every transplant.

I will give less calmag, but adding it was the thing that solved my issue here

Hi all, Those plants are 30 days from seed. The soil is "empty" - no added nutrition. I added Perlite + vermiculite + some hummus (less than 5%). I gave them advance nutrition grow a+b and cal mag since second week, almost every watering. In the beginning , half of the recommendation, then...

Yes, this is so confusing cause I had deficiency and adding calmag actually solve it...
Feeding more frequently solved my issues... when I skipped, they didn't grow and developed signs.
I really think this time I fucked up the medium by adding too much perlite and vermiculate... also those strains are new to me and more gentle.. the green crack has almost non issues, same feed (the plant in the front)

is 1000 ppm consider high for end of veg? I am switching to 12:12 tomorrow (they are starting to be too big for my tent, 70 days old)

Watering is perfect, every 3-4 days, 15% runoff, transplant it 2 weeks ago roots was great no issues, added micorize also
Temperature actually lower than usual, 23-24c. But I moved the lights higher.

Yes I do beleive my main issues this time is the soil.
The soil mix is "empty", its peat 30%, vermiculate 30%, and perlite 30% and some coco fiber.
I made a mistake by adding more vermiculate & perlite...

This is so contusing..

Can I ask for practical advice?
Is that ok?

1. Switching to flower
2. Give calmag every third watering
3. Feed every second watering (Advance nutritions Bloom A+B)
4. what ppm?

update:

I stopped giving calmag (actually I am giving every 5 watering+-)

They are beautiful and happy.

The Bubakush on the right is a bit less happy but also OK.

Feed at the rate the nute manufacturer recommends. If you’re in soil, the ppm’s are irrelevant if you feed at the recommended rate. PPMs are more important for coco/hydro.
