Dehumidifier water no good?

I've been using it, but on my seedlings they seem to really dislike it. The dehumidifier is old, loud, and sucks a ton of energy, any recommendations for something affordable? I bought this one used years ago.

I read if it has copper tubes the water is no good. When it kicks on there's some type of tubes that rattle around.

Damn I need to get my rain barrel going but it hasn't rained here in forever.

If I let the city water sit in a barrel to get rid of the chlorine, are there any cheap treatments to make it useable? If I start the plants with it, will they adapt to it or will it just f them over and slow growth, nute lockout, etc? I need to get a ph tester, any cheap models you recommend? I have some little colored cup shits with markers that change color for testing the soil nutes, but I think my ph is bad.

You can get a cheap under sink filter at hd that gets rid of most the chemicals and particulate in the city water, works fine for me. If your dehumidifier has copper tubes it can be bad because the copper kills roots ( they line some pots in copper as a type of root pruning)
