i have a delema. i have a grow box perfect for veg stage with built in fan and mylar and what not, including warm and cool fluorescents. im wondering if i should save my money and transfer the plants to an outside secret place, or spend the money for the compact fluor and flower in that small 3x3x3 box. right now im leaning toward the replant outdoors. id appriciate any advice.

Outdoors has its advantages and disadvantages. The pros are: usually more potent product, it grows with less effort on your part, mother nature handles the light and ventilation.
Cons: BUGS. They can wipe out a crop in no time. I have lost a few crops to those nasty little buggers. An unexpected storm can be bad for plants that are close to harvest. And of course you have the security problem.

It's up to you. I began growing outside. It is easier. After loosing several crops and having a few very disappointing others I moved inside. It is just a personal preference.

If it were me, I would stay with an indoor grow. Security is my #1 issue, and I try to be as stealth as possible. I also like the fact that you don't have to worry about preditors [bugs, deer, rabbits, etc.]. But, yes, it is a personal preference. Hope your hobby is as rewarding as mine!

hehe, i'd like to see deer and rabbits eat the leaves off marijuana plants... just as long as it wasn't mine!;)

really 420man, did you tie the plant down or what? also another disadvantage is that i dorm with some people in a house and i think the smell might be too strong even if it is in the garage and being pumped outside. what do u guys think, is the smell overwhelming or no

Well in my Box i have 3 pots the envirolite up top of corse and a fan blowing fresh air in through a open side, and i have no real problem with smell unless you stick your head right in there. Prob Depends on what kinda plants you have some might smell more then others. Other then that i just turn the light on and let them grow ( i havnt needed to tie them up or prop them up in anyway the fan blowing helps the stems become strong)

They are all about 1 foot tall but should be getting bigger during the next month and a half of flowering

I say keep the grow box and grow it inside. You are definately more in control when growing inside. Like everyone else said, the bugs, animals, and the climate can definately ruin a crop.
