Delta 8 thc.... who knows whats up???

Mods... if this is the wrong spot move as you see fit..
I just read an article about delta 8 thc. Now... most of us are familiar with delta 9 which we love and seek but delta 8 is supposed to be a cleaner high and less anxiety and paranoia.

I'm not a chemist, just a stoner.... who's got legit knowledge to share?

Similar isomers in the plant- Delta-8 is single bonded and Delta-9 is double bonded. Both are present in all cannabis plants. Delta 8 is produced in much lower levels by the plants and it's about half as potent.

There have been plenty of studies on it for awhile but it's getting more traction lately as the new "hottness" because qualitative studies (people's opinions) say that it gives a cleaner less anxious high (but also remember it's about 50% less potent).

I'm an environmental engineer not a chemist but I can probably answer a few questions- was there something in particular you wanted to know about it?

Yea... are there strains out there where this is a measured component? I get that it can be bought as an extract. Can I grow it in any significant amounts that matter?

@Gorillabilly - apparently it grows in most cannabis, just in much lower concentration.
Strain choice could be interesting - my Wife & I smoked a Velvet Purp strain - said 15%thc, but I was DONE after the second hit. So there's more going on in these plants than we've figured out yet.

Haven't tried these yet, I have tried and enjoyed some of their other products. This one intrigues me, but the lower effect and higher price have made it a no-go so far.

Not correct

delta-six and delta-eight are the same molecule named by different conventions.

Similarly delta-1 and delta-9 are one molecule named in those two conventions.
