Hello everybody! I've been around these forums for a few weeks now, and learned a lot about indoor.
This thread will eventually lead to a grow room, and my first indoor grow! (with a journal of course) :) I have a TON of experience outdoors, and generally know what's up. But, as I mentioned, this indoor grow will be my first one. I plan to start in soil, make some seeds and then go hydro. BUT:
The growroom will be far away from my current living location, and I can only visit it once a week. What would be the most reliable hydro options?

I guess I'll buy 600w dual spectrum HPS bulb, and at start grow 2 plants vertically. I will be irrigating the soil with a few drippers every other day.
Speak up guys!

In all honesty, if you can only visit the site once a week Hydro may not be in your best interest. The reasoning behind this is the maintenance involved with PH / PPM balance. Daily I check my res. I ensure PH is within the acceptable range (5.5-6.5) and my water is topped up. At the beginning stages of Hydro, you wont need to top off as much. However, I am in week 5 of flowering and I add around a half gallon of RO water daily (for a single plant). Along with topping off the plants with fresh water, you also need to add back necessary nutrients. At first, it is a little difficult but once you have your grow dialed in it becomes second nature.

As for your lighting choice, 600w will be sufficient for two plants. How big is your room? Will you be using a tent, or a dedicated room? Good luck!

If I weren't going to be around to monitor everything every day, I would go with an organic supersoil and set up an automatic watering system. You wouldn't have to worry about monitoring nute runoff and it won't be such a leap from growing outdoors.

Agreed.

There is NO WAY to run hydro checking once a week. You must stay on top of hydro. Plants grow big and quick and so do the problems. Just as big and even quicker!
