I like this stuff and want to use it on my top soil, but an old thing was dusting plants with a duster? anyone have good experience on this and have any insight ? from what i understand this shit is bad to breath but im wondering how well it works if i were to dust it on my foliage of my plants then rinse it off in a day and see how it works. I keep getting random bugs from the fox farm happy frog i get lol, and i hate using pesticides
from what i understand DE is inert and just slices the fk out of them

Depends on your situation. I use some in my soil but I wouldn't apply it dry to the top of my soil. But only because i have a strong predatory mite population and no pests to speak of. But if you were battling a pest that breeds in the soil it would work very well!
Just be aware it's indiscriminate between beneficial or pest and if you have no pests and good beni's then it's more harm than benefit!

Do you have fungus gnats, because that is all diatomaceous earth is supposedly good for, which is actually a waste of time. Just use yellow sticky traps.
Do you have spider mites, because that would be the only real reason you'd need a sprayer to apply something like Neem oil

I use DE mixed with crushed eggshells around the base of my plants to detour stugs and snails.

Yea, outdoors I can see that.
Did you ever try putting beer in a bowl around your plants?
Works great, the slugs love it, and they crawl into the bowl, get drunk and die.
Try it.
