Did I make a mistake by plucking a single fan leave in late bloom?

I'm 8 weeks into flowering, 80% of the pistils are still white, there was a fan leave that was blocking the buds below it, and it was half burnt from the sidelights anyways, so I decided to pull it cus I thought it'd be fine.

I now read that this is considered a bad idea and could shock the plant if u do this late in flowering, but every source i've found is referring to plucking out multiple fan leaves.

I know that plucking leaves off is bad and stressful and takes away nutrients, but will plucking a single fan leave cause any type of stress for the plant this late into blooming? The fan leave was half burnt but the stem was green and was pretty hard to pull off the plant.

This is my first grow and everything went PERFECT and I was so proud I could manage to pull a healthy plant for my first grow, and now I'm super bummed from this stupid mistake cause I read it's gonna hurt yield big time because thats when the buds are fattening up.

You will be fine. Plucking a few fan leaves during flowering here and there to allow more canopy light isn't a problem. I have friends who pull fan leaves throughout their entire grows and never have quality/yield/hermie issues. I personally try to avoid pulling anything after week 3-4 but sometimes you have to pull em to allow for more light. Don't sweat it.

Bad news, that plant will now self destruct.

Where u read bout this method?
What lighting schedule did u use?
How big are the top buds?

Nice work on first grow bro...

I agree less stress is best but remember it's a plant and a bit of pruning never hurt anyone, I personally would not take off (harvest) more than about a third of the plant at any one time. The leaves are part of the bounty of this herb and have good culinary uses (assuming they've not been overly contaminated with bug spray)... leaves make for good butter +++ brownies :D

Also, a good pair of trimming scissors would be useful rather than tearing off the leaves if you're concerned about pulling too hard on a cola or a branch. Many leaves will easily snap off but some tear at the stalk when you pull them off so I typically just clip it as close to the stalk as is practical with the fine nose scissors

If your strain is finicky it might throw a fit, we especially had problems with fem.seeds doing shit like that. If it was already damaged leaf and only week or two left i think youll be fine. Some say plucking the leaf but not the little stem is less stress on the plant, i dont know.
Watch for nanners and remove if you see them.

No offense, but I find this humorous. There's not a single person on this site that would ever have pulled off a successful grow if plucking one leaf was a deal breaker. My money's on you'll be fine
