Differences of CFL bulbs?

What's up fellow herbivores.

I was just wondering what the diffrence between a cfl bulb such as the ones i have (2 - 125 watt 6400, 2600) the shorter ones that people seem to use in excess of 3-4 in the grow boxes.

This first one is what i have. except a 125 instead of a 200.

Yeah so I was just curious. Is it a cost effective method or something? Would the electricity used still be the same?

yeah my bad, sorry if I was a little unclear. I was just curious as to why people would use a bunch of small bulbs to do a job that one big bulb could do on it's own. I just guessed because it's cost effective?

Lol I'm ALSO looking for a few good reasons to justify myself for spending 80$ each on a couple of big bulbs, when the smaller ones are much cheaper, even in larger quantities.

Use 23 or 42 watt cfls if you want the best efficiency. Those higher wattage cfl bulbs sometimes just use more electricity for not all that much more light output. The rate you would be going, you might as well get a 250 watt hps instead of two 125 cfls; you'll have more quality light from the hps.

i like the smaller bulbs like 26 watts and run a bunch then u get good light all around plant and if u break one it wont shut down grow or cost alot to replace
as for power use 5 26 bulbs use almost same as one 125 watt
u are charged by the wattage by power company

I suppose the idea that a single broken bulb wont shut down the grow, but rigging up 5 bulbs just seems to be a pain.

by the way im only using one bulb at a time, first the 6400, then the 2600 for the flowering.

well for one max two plants one big bulb will do
but u can buy 6 small 26 watters for like 15 dollars thats a total of 156 watts versus $80 for 125 or is the 200 $80? either way small bulbs are very cost effective and when u do replace as they get weaker as bulb gets older u can use them in your house for lighting and it will save u on power bill

Is the not a serious risk of them falling out?

I'm sort of feeling like i was ripped off here. I was given two bulbs at about 80 each, first bulb the 125 watt 6400 for the vegetation, then I bought another one which is was told was pretty crucial for the flowering stage.

Would I be better off returning the big bulbs and getting a few smaller watt cfls? I mean I saw those at home depot for fucks sake.
