how far do 125w bulbs need to be from the plants tip???

maybe 5 in. cfls?

is one 125 enough for 4 pots???how will i avoid stretching???

your saying 4 pots... how many total plants?

4? like one in each pot? If so.. no. You need more bulbs bro. 6500k (daylight spectrum) and at least run 100watts (per bulb) and use a total of about 8 of them. That way each plant gets at least 200watts you know?

To avoid stretching.. you need to be as close as possible. and with cfl lighting.. generally you dont have to worry about the plant getting burned or too hot. Because CFL bulbs don't really put out enough heat to burn anything.

Rule of thumb when using CFL for grows.
Keep tops of plants at a minimum distance of 1"inches away, but I use about 1.5-2" away and have no problems.
