I have noticed that there is not alot of info on a DIY carbon scruber so i made my own and now i would like to share my info with all my fellow marijuana growers this way you can build one too with out the need to go buy one from some hydro shop for a ton of money or from some chezzy online store that might give there customer list to the police cuse they were caught up in some shit ya know. First the materils
1. A one gallon paint can (plz go buy an empty one at lowes or home depot dont use on that had paint in it 3.50
2. A quirt size paint can agin a clean one 2.50
3. A 4x6 reducer u can buy one at home depot in the duct work Isle 4.00
4. A roll of duct work tape (duct tape works too)
5. 3 containers of Activeted carbon (located at walmart in the fish department) 15.00 for all 3
First drill alot of holes in the two paint cans (I used a drywall screw and a hammer becuse it was faster) make sure there small 1/8 of an inch or smaller
Should look like this
And like this.
Then drill a starter hole in the bottom of the big can so we can cut a larger hole
Next use tin snipes to cut a hole in the bottom of the big can make sure it is just large enough for the little can to pass through
Next cut the rim off the small can
Then tape the small can to the reducer
And insert it into the big can through the hole we cut and tape it so it is air tight
This is what it should look like the majority of the work is done
Now you can pour the carbon into the top of the large paint can (make sure u get it all the way around and to the top pack it nicely and put the top on)
And walla ur done you should have a nice 6 inch carbon scruber.
Im currently useing it to scruber my cloest witch is 6x6x8 ft easily. Also I like this design becuse in 6-8 months i can easily change the carbon by poping the top off.And the best thing of all it only cost me 25 bucks try to find that on ebay
Also for u guys that want to use a 4 inch dryer vent just get a 4 inch stright pipe.
