Diy ceiling mount fan

I was looking for an oscillating wall mount fan. I had a tower fan in the flower chamber but quicky needed more airflow as the canopy got thicker and buds denser. I couldn't find one anywhere, and given it was fall, fans were out of season, so the selection was very limited. I picked up this $25 (+/- dont exactly remember) Lasko fan from Lowes, along with:

1/2" galvanized floor flange

1/2" x 1-1/2" threaded nipple

1/2"fip x 3/4slip pvc female adapter

I had a bolt and nut to bolt the fan tube into the pvc fem adapter and also screws to attach the flange to the ceiling.

This is what I came up with. I'd have to say it cost around $30, works great and has been running continuous on high for 2+ weeks so far

Oscillates back and forth nice and tight, up an out of the way in the corner.
Cut the fan leg at the appropriate length for your application. I used tubing cutters for copper pipe to get a nice cut, I suppose a hacksaw would work. ($1 store if you don't have one)

Looks good . Maybe you could back track just a bit and walk us thru how you did this and maybe include some pics . share how you did it yourself.

That's the picture I got. I build too many things and work too fast to be taking pictures all the time. I wasn't thinking to do a build thread, it's just worked out so nice that I thought I'd share it.

Screw the nipple into the flange, female adapter on to the nipple.

Now you have to determine the height you want the fan and cut the leg accordingly

Slip the fan leg into the female adapter, drill a hole all the way through both the female adapter and the leg and secure the fan leg i to the adapter via a bolt.

Mount and adjust accordingly.

Just taking a stand fan, cutting the leg and making a simple mount.
