Trying to find some ideas for designing a frame to hold 2x Alpine 64 GT Rev 2 CPU HS/Fans.
I will have two of these 'frames', for a total of 4 chips/hs/fans. I want to keep them 2 separate frames to allow them to fit with in the ceiling of the tent better, due to exhaust location. So the exact fitment inside the tent (from the walls) isn't all that important yet and I'll be able to adjust a bit.
The heatsinks have a ~7mm / .276" edge (<<-- see pic in link) that they could be 'set in to', maybe allowing for some adjustability in regards to placement within the frame/tent. What I had in mind was some aluminum flat bar, 1/8" thick, 3/4" wide in two ~18" chunks. Built into a rectangle, all pulled together with some eye-bolts and nuts at 4 corners, so I have a simple way to hang the frame. I'd actually have to cut out two 2.6" chunks turning the 18" bar into 15.4" wide? But thats fine, I already have the heatsinks 3.5" inboard on the 18" design below...so I'd just keep likely keep them at max width/distance from one another in the frame. If any of this makes sense....
If someone has already been through this and has a good pictorial or walk through, I'd love to read/see it.
I put together a photoshop of a 1:1 scale of my tent and frame design..trying to make sense of it all. See below image.
I'm working with a 2'x2'x3' tent. Will be running 4x CXB3590 3000k CB 36v on a MW 185H-C1400B (likely turned down to ~700mA [23w/chip] or so, and be able to add more with the twist of a 100k potentiometer, up to 49w/chip). May be a bit overboard, but I've been disappointed with the coverage of a 180w UFO LED, and I've also tried 2x 100w cheap CN chips [@ ~60w ea] that just don't provide full coverage at manageable temps.
