So I've been having issues with high humidity because of the wet weather OR has been having. To make matters worse my air intake draws from under the house, very humid air. Thankfully I have found a solution.
What I did was take a plastic planter, drilled a bunch of holes for it so it would not restrict the air too much more, I then recessed it into the hole of my intake, screwed it in place and filled it with charcoal.
I did all of this last night and the humidity outside has risen since, but the air in my room has dropped by 20%!!!
This has worked awesome. The charcoal I used was all natural oak chunks-perfect. I also filled a coffee can with charcoal and put it in the room with a fan on it as well, just for a little extra.
My room is now running at 50% humidity with night temps at about 64 degrees and day temps at 80.
