Drugs Taught Me Metric!
specialkayme mentioned a link in a previous post of mine to point to a DIY carbon filter that is pretty nice...International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - DIY pro style carbon filter ... He also mentioned he couldn't find any plans for an INLINE carbon filter... so again at work today I was bored and thought I would draw something up using stuff you can find at lowes.
The picture should be self explanatory and I don't really feel like labeling and calling out everything but..
1.) the Grey lines are a screen wrapped around chicken fence or panty hose over some chicken fence
2.) the first picture is the actual Filter assembly.. I think the smallest this would work with is a 4" to 2" reducer (unless you find smaller), 4" end cap, 2" end cap (this will give you 1" space around for carbon rocks).. Use sheet metal screws to screw the caps together on the end (Shown in picture 2)
3.) the second picture is the housing. in this example I would have: 2 - 4" to 6" increasers, and a 6" piece of ducting to however long your making this thing. I show a cross section view of the assemble with screws placed where they should be. Since the spot to fill carbon will be 1" thick, I used 1" long screws in four spots around the outside housing to hold the inner filter centered.
Make sure to wrap the filter with something so carbon doesnt get everywhere... 4" Inline Carbon Filter... This can be increased in size also. Happy Growing
