got tired of all the wires everywhere so i made a little cfl hood out of the top to a furnace box. i used some $2.00 sockets from H depot some scrap 12-3 wire i had and the y splitters from HD and a 3way adapter. drilled my holes, sprayed some glue by 3m i had in the shop and stuck the mylar to it. next day i wired up the sockets and put the plug ends on (also 2 bucks each) . i could have wired it all to 1 cord but i wanted the flexability they have with the new t5 hoods where you can turn on seperate banks of lights. i have it set up for veg right now with the outsides being 26watt 6500k and the middle bank is 4 42 watt 2700 k and 2 26 watt 27k. come flower time i will put the 6500K in the center and 2700k on both sides. right now with this setup i am at 532 watts cfl with 33100 lumens in a 2 foot x 2.75 foot area. i fired it up today and it is very bright. put a thermometer on top and 2 under it 1 was 6 inches away from the lights and 1 was a foot. readings are pretty good. 72 degrees in the shop always, 75-76 on top my the sockets, 82 6" under and 78 at 1 foot below the lights. i will probably need a fan when i go to flower because of the sides being closed but i'm really suprised for cool it runs . i have about 50 bucks into it plus lights but i had those already. tell me what you think and what you might change to make better. i'm gunna try this with a piece of sheet metal in the next day or 2. now i will try to load the pics for yaall. here goes .
