I've heard the answer to this is yes.

As the breeders generally breed for higher THC.

Depends on which landrace strains you're referring to. A landrace strain that is an equatorial sativa is going to have a vastly different cannabinoid profile than one that is from temperate climate like a broad leaf indica.
