Do MJ Plants Show Signs Of Sex Before Flower?

I had a power outage on the 6th week of veg...it lasted for 4 hours,I'm worried that this may engage a premature flower?could be a ridiculous question just don't know...My plants are showing there sex now and I thought it started when flowering began.

You can begin 12/12 whenever you like. You can leave it off for as long as you like. (within certain reasons of course, but we're talking years)
