The pot is only 5" i dont have much room for anything much bigger than that

You can flower whenever you want man! As long as you have enough nodes per plant that you are looking for on harvest. If you don't then veg longer and flip it to 12/12 when you are ready!

Mine are bout a ft tall. I got around 4 ft of grow space upwards so. They double/triple in size during flowering. Rite?

that depends on ur strain. indicas tend to strech far less if at all some sativia strech for 20-30 days. regardless id top one to see how the strain responds.

My Purple Kush (pure indica) only grew like 7 inches in flowering... Sativas normally double, sometimes triple in size. With LSTing you can definitely expect a shorter flowering height. Don't sacrifice too much veg time; you can always just cut the heighest top off if it gets too close to the light and let the plant keep growing a few more weeks
