Do trichs near the edges and on the tops of leaves turn amber faster?

and the trichs towards the middle and on the bottoms turn amber slower?
I keep looking at completely different images depending on which part of a small portion of a leaf I look at.

I think most of the pics you see from the side are taken to give a better view, but once you know what you are looking for, I believe it would be just as easy to see from directly above the leaf.

Or I mean like this: When I look at the top edge of a leaf, it looks like ready to harvest. But when I look at the bottom middle of a leaf, it's not ready yet.

Yea, I guess that was kinda fucked up, huh? I got onto a completely different picture of what you had said.
I think the trichs on top, would all turn at the same rate, outer or inner leaf, but compared to bottom side of the leaf, IDK. I never really thought about that.
I'm getting ready to do my first hack too, so I guess we'll both find out.
I don't recall ever reading about a question like that, or anybody ever mentioning it, so if it was me, I would put up some pics for opinions, or go ahead and hack it, and chalk it up to experience.

bump.... Because today is harvest day!!!! Or, it isn't really that close yet. It all depends on which part of the leaf I look at. I'm hoping for a little guidance here....

I wish I could, but I don't have one of the microscopes that can take pictures, and my camera is good, but not that good...

Hang on.... I'll get you something to look at. Hopefully it will help.

Here. The bottoms to all of these areas is all clear with some cloudy. But you can still sort of tell from the picture that on top there is amber aroud

don't judge your harvest on sugar leaf trichomes, if that's where you're checking
they can amber well before the bud trichomes, and are not a good indicator of ripeness

Don't cut those yet man!!! I can tell you from looking at the bud shots that it isn't ready!! Hope you haven't already hacked them.

If it was my impatient ass, I would probably hack it in a couple days, but look closer at the trichs on the bud itself.

So, do you snip off a piece of bud in order to look at it under a scope? So far I've only been looking at leaves.

if you are snipping, i can understand using the leaf, i.e. not wanting to damage bud
a scope does make it tough to check on the bud, some of use a simple magnifier to check out the bud on the plant
but with care snipping a little bud will do little harm, that said i've never cut it off my growing plant, always leave her pristine until harvest

If you can set the plant next to the counter or table so you have a steady hand that would be better, in case it's not ready yet.
But clipping off a small one won't hurt........... You may end up doing that intentionally, since all buds will not mature at the same rate.
