Over the last couple years i have never read about others testing when you do not use pots.

I read all these problems people are having and never a mention of test levels.

Depending where you live matters whats in the ground. If you have a higher iron content in Colorado then the triangle
don't you think you will have a different taste? Don't you think ur Green Crack or Blue Dream will taste the same or different.

Your roots micros are effected different.

I guess i just wanted to see if anyone did anymore.

The odd time I plant in ground you better believe its tested, I thought everyone was smart enough to do that!

I test before I grow. I live in a bit of a coniferous desert and the ground is often very acidic and has no (noticable) N; P and K are always pretty high though. It just seems like quite a gamble; you run the risk of wasting all your effort if you don't test your soil.

I can't see it affecting taste more than overall health. just look at it too see how moist it is thinking of when the last rain was, till it, amend it, let it rest for a month, till it, plant in march

Not an outdoor guy,but my method would be digging a big hole and filling it in with my soil(I do grow indoors with soil)...if I were to grow in my backyard, and just that soil, yes I would test it..makes perfect sense..ya never know, you might be planting in dirt that may have been a dump site for cat litter or old car oil...no use in putting in effort to grow hay...

I doubt that the majority of people have their outdoor soils tested. Most just either amend the existing soil or replace the majority of the native soil with something like ffof or other commercial soil.

Personally, I'm fortunate enough to have some top quality native soil that just needs some compost, aeration, kelp... Good to grow.
