Does high fertility mean anything in breeding?

I had 5 females and 2 males I kept a little too long last bloom cycle. 3 plants didn't take well, 1 has a decent amount for its size, and 1 plant is loaded with seeds. Got almost 50 seeds from her so far.

Does fertility mean anything in breeding cannabis? Or am I over thinking?

the timing of pollination is the biggest factor... can affect the number and size of seed drastically.

guess i need to research more about size of seed in cannabis

Fertility as in the timing of pollination is a vital point

best charted on male and female with your calender as often with many strains the first male pollen is sterile

so wait a few days before pollination as often the female is 2-3 weeks behind

maybe forcing you to store the best? pollen in the freezer in the mean time

on a 3ft high hybrid 50 seeds is nothing... maybe half a lower lateral

I always leave the top most to toke, leaving the lower laterals to pollinate

the advantage is you harvest the plant as you normally do

but keep the tagged lower branches growing until the seeds are clearly seen in their bracts
