does my light have to be above the plants?

If im growing a few plants in a 6' length x 3' width x 3 light proof room either covered in mylar or smooth white paint, and its not exactly tall enough to have my 400 W MH hanging above them, is it possible for me to just somehow mount the light on the floor and aim it up? shouldnt that be fine, since all the light is contained within the room and reflected?

thanks, glad i didnt go ahead thinking it would work haha
so then if i dont want to lower yield and just veg shorter, should i suspend the light from the ceiling and 4 way LST the hell out of them?

It may not be the "best set-up", but it should work (so-so!). The leaves should just "flip over" and face the light. It's called "Phototropism" (I think that's how you spell it!).
