Does one need to see calyxes??!!? Do they form on all plants??

Just like it says....will there be Calyxes on all plants? I ask because I've yet to really see them form on any of my 3 grows. Not many under my belt I know but still......should I see them or is it just a strain/pheno specific type of thing?

I really don't wanna see them cause the one and only time I have seen them in my personal smoke....the herb SUCKED! It looked like someone crossed weed with hops, it was nuts. It was super weak her, although it looked good.

So can someone school me in the ways and means and reasons of calyxes?

Dude, maybe you got your terminology wrong...your journal pics show me your plants had thousands of calyxes.

yea something is messed up there, if you see white hairs then you see calyxes which are the little bulbs that have the two sometimes more white hairs coming out of them. They also produce most of your trichomes on the surface of them when you get to that stage.

Kinda sounds like your mixing up seeds with calyxes

calyxes are the bulb looking things that appear first when you switch into 12/12. the hairs shoot out of these. your friends bud may have been different...ive had different strains grow weird looking buds

I did infact mean calyxes however I guess I shoulda said "swollen calyxes" in that I've seen pics where they are giant and swollen. Mine have never gotten so big and swollen.

For instance, in my journal from 2011, someone said I shouldn't chop since my calyxes hadn't swollen up yet......but I have never had them do that? Did I harvest too early then? My trichs were cloudy/amber.

Could the amount calyxes swell be a strain/pheno thing....or did I harvest too early?

Add more red spectrum.
Use some molasses 1tbsp per gallon. Both help resin production I believe.
