I think you could definitely grow one plant under it. I throw four under my SGS160 and two under my lower one (75 or 90W?).

ok, if your problem is "lack of funds" and if you "really want to build your own light" ,, then why are you paying more for a light that is already built?,,
the area 51 light is an awesome light, but it is a single cob for 175 bucks, you can build your own and have 2 or 3 times the power over your single plant,
here is how
the cxa3070 cree cobs that many of us are using have come down in price, they are only $34 dollars

All good points Tim Fox. From what I've been reading I'll also need to buy a multimeter and and other tools to do the job, all which will be time consuming and If I am going to do a build I have decided to order the cxb3590 and buy a fluke multimeter. The main reason I was looking at a factory built light is because I have some plants growing under a mars hydro reflector series 3x96 and it's just not cutting it, so I was trying to find a quick fix to save at least one plant that has been flowering for about a month.

However this area 51 light won't be ready to ship for another 2 weeks so it really doesn't solve my problem.

Talked to king Brite last night and I'm close to ordering those cxb 3590 cd cobs.

cool man, you wont regret building your own cob light, and the cxb3590s although more expensive are a bit more powerful,,,
you and I both can video tape tossing our mars lights into the trash dumpster and show Realstyles,, lol

Ya I saw that video, think I'd rather find a way to add these cobs to the mars housing instead of destroying it. The reflector series 3x96 works fine for vegging just not for buds.

well if you used thermal glue and a soldering iron, you could build one of these with just
1.hack saw to cut aluminum channel
2.wire stripper or wire cutters to strip ends and cut strip an extension cord for the male plug
3.soldering iron to solder the wires to the cree cob pads
4. drill for drilling holes in the aluminum frame to install bolts and holes for wire ties
gosh its simple this way

if you use cob holders you need a small drill bit to drill pilot holes in the pc heat sinks, and self tapping screws
(still not to hard)
I did not need or use a multimeter in the building of my lights, I simply copyed what supra , realstyles, positivity and captain morgan and others have done for us all already and thier step by step builds to,

problem with cheap chineese lights is they lie about thier specs, , further more the spec they give of 3300 lux,
the cxa3070 cree cob puts out over 8000 lux and the cree cob only cost 34 dollars
the cxb3590 cree cob puts out over 11,000 lux
and the cree cobs blow it away in Par
just sayin
