Does This Sound Right To You?

I'm watching Hulu Plus on my 360, and there was a commercial on. I'm 99.99% positive the commercial said "1 in 3 women will be raped in their lifetime".

Does that sound like an inflated statistic to anyone else?

Could be, like I said I'm only 99.99% sure. I definitely could have missed something. Still seems kind of inflated...

you know what i think is just as sad as a woman being raped? the under reported sexual assault toward males. they never come forward to get help or report the crimes, so people think that men arent sexually assaulted or beaten

For starters it can`t be 1 in 3 for rape.

Maybe it said sexual assault thats the only way I`d belive that. Now it all depends on what they define as sexual assault to decide the whole inflated statistic thing.

If being kissed by a drunk guy in a club before pushing him off = sexual assault then its just inflated that way. Never say what type of sexual assault.

And for me to give a woman domestic abuse, she would have to break my heart in two to get something like that out of me. So why don`t we say 1 in 2 men get their heart broken so bad they end up pushing or hitting their wife once or twice.

Bottomline, how many of them ended up with a divorce? It makes it sound very sob on the girls side. Girls do some pretty bad things too, like turn up to a party bitch about everyone, get the boys fighting and drink free booze lol Lets not all step up and feel sorry for them straight away.

Just saw the commercial again (hulu usually plays commercials from one or two sponsors per show).

It was and I quote... "1 in 3 women will be raped or abused in their lifetime"

Eh ok, it made me feel sorry for women at the first glance and then I explained myself that way.

No sob stories, agreed on that.

sorry just we did this thing in one of my classes that was all girls, and nearly all of us raised our hands for being either hit by a family member, sexually accosted, etc.

All that means is a lot of women will get it. Hope its none of my people.

Yeh well tough world some men are real dickheads. But physical abuse wise men get their fair share too. Lots of bullies around for boys
