Doing LST with plastic grow bags?

I’ve been growing in these 3 gallon bags for years. I’ve try a strap around the bag with strings tied up to branches pulling them down. PITA. Tried tape. PITA. Bent over branches. This works but looks terrible.

If you grow in bags and LST, show your technique.

I like these cleaned up like this but I always need to tie them up at the end.

End of the 7th week and no training.

I've seen people hang weights, like those lead fishing weights, tied to string to bend branches. For a young plant, you might be able to use washers, then you could stack as many or as few as you needed.

I've had the same issue with fabric pots. I was going to try and make branch spreaders like the ones used on fruit trees, they kind of look like this

and you wedge them between branches you want to separate. I haven't tried it yet because my last few grows have been so crowded I'm facing different challenges.

(edit). Nice looking grow! Looks kind of like what I'm dealing with, except mine are packed into a 2x4 tent. I've ended out doing two stage harvests to give the shadowed bottom halves more time to cook.
 
You guys have some great ideas. Since I’m growing the same 6 plants over and over, I thought about this.

This was a 4’x4’ piece of 1” plywood with 2 by 2s screwed around it. I then lined it with a sheet of plastic. It became a drip tray for 6 plants.

Today I ripped off the plastic and cut a hole in the plywood. Think I’ll screen it with 2”x4” no climb or something similar , throw some legs on it, and have the buds grow through it and chop everything below the screen. Then call it a day.
 
1 finally went to Lowes and bought a roll of 2x4 no climb. Made some legs, slapped some old paint on it, and attached the fence.

Done. It ended up being 29 inches from floor to fencing. No more buds falling over for me.

This is the next round of VS010s that will be using the new table. When they come through the fence I’ll take a few pics.

Thanks for all the different ideas. Because I grow the same plants at the same time, I’m going with the table rather than LST each plant. Too much work.
 
I have 6 plants ready to go under the table very soon. I’m going to toss the smallest plant and go with only 5. They will fit better.

I used to fasten safety pins around the top of my fabric pots and use string to tie down to them. This go round, I am going to use binder clips and pipe cleaners. Hoping it will be a little quicker and easier to tie down and/or adjust.
 
Right in time. Got the other 5 plants out of there. They were bent in half and looked like shit but done. They got hit with some hot hot hot temps. Got a decent harvest though.

Cleaned up the mess and brought the new 5 plants in with the table just in time.

5 days later. Stretch should be done. Cleaned up below the screen. No more worrying about tying up or tying down branches and/or broken branches. I’m very happy with this so far.

Looking great! Is this your first grow with a scrog? Growing through a screen definitely has benefits. It's nice that yours is in an open space where you can approach it from at different sides (at least that's what it looks like from the pictures).
 
I’ve messed with a small screen years ago. This is roughly 4’x4’ and is working great. I can somewhat get around the table. Watering is a little tough on the back. These are at 6 weeks. Currently having to water every day.

Pick up a couple of these for the pots that are tough to reach. I just attach a pice of water line to it long enough to reach to where I can easily get to it. I then use a small funnel and water how I normally would. You could also hook them to a pump if desired.

Glad it's working for you, they are awesome but can create some access challenges. At one point I was growing a lot of photo sativas, and I went as far as to make a two level screen system. At the end of the cycle I'd harvest the tops, take off the top screen and lower the light to finish the bottoms. It served a purpose, but I'm glad the autos I work with now stay more compact.

That's a lot of heat in there, are you able to cool it off at night?
 
It does cool down at night. Right now it’s only getting down to 75-80 though. Friggin heat spell hitting N Ca is kicking my butt. Right now I need to water ever 1.5 days or so. It’s ok. They are doing fine as long as they don’t dry out too long in this heat.

I’ve been thinking about these more and more. Right now I’m watering with this 5 gallon bucket sitting up a couple feet off the ground and filled to 3 gallons. I just sit down, turn on some music, and go plant to plant until it’s empty. (I used to fill 3 gallon milk jugs and water that way. That sucked).

Make a manifold off the bottom of the bucket that would feed the five lines going to the rings. Then elevate the bucket up to 3 feet. I assume I will need to drill the holes bigger in the rings due to nutrient buildup or at least some of the holes.

What I have learned over the years is high temps indoors for short spurts does not affect my plants as long as they don’t dry out. When I was growing out in the shop I would reach temps up to 113 because I was too lazy to install AC. Now I’m still lazy but grow in the trailer. Lmao.

Anyway, here they are today.

Definitely. I ran Botanicare nutes when I used them and didn't have any issues with clogging. If you do set them up, I would probably try to make all the hoses the same length so the water flows the same.
