DR80, 400w HPS, Snow White & More!

Hey guys,
Thought Id start up a journal for my upcoming grow. I setup the tent, lights, fan and filter this morning just have yet to pop the beans in the soil cos the grow shop I got all my gear in didnt have the 11L pots I wanted

Anyways list of gear so far:
DR80 (80x80x160)
400w HPS w/ Sylvania Grolux Bulb,Euro Reflector and digital ballast (got the digital for €20/about $25 over the price of the magnetic, couldnt say no!)
TT125 Fan (280m3/h)
125mm/300mm Carbon Filter (max capacity 500m3/h)

I plan on putting in 9 plants in 11L pots and vegging for 2/3 weeks (till they're about 1.5 - 2' tall),a bit of LST then flowering. Ambient temperatures in the room Im growing in is about 7-8C (44.6F) so Im really not worrying about the light being too hot especially with the fan I have.

I will post loads of pics once it gets going, just thought Id start the thread up now.

Any comments/suggestions?

44F is pretty low man. You want those plants to stay between 60-80 for best growth. I heard once they drop below 50F growth slows quite a bit. It sounds to me like you will be fine and need the light to help heat the tent lol.

Are you sure those temps are right?

Yeah man but thats with lights off, still have to get the jubilee clips for the ducting before I can do a proper dry run, but when I test fired the light with no fan on it jumped 4C in like 30secs...so I assume the light will provide all the radiant heat I need Gonna get some heat mats for lizards for nighttime running on a temp controller, have to run lights during the day to suit my circumstances.

i have a DR80 aswell mate, am also running a 125 Ruck fan connected right on to the filter which is sucking the air through the filter right out the window, which means its pushing the air through my cooltube cooling that down to stop high temps and gets rid of the heat factor aswell so all go, but i only have 4 plans tho, Big Bud, 14days into flowering and looking good, i can post some photostoo show you my setup, i think it would be quite cramped with your 9 plants, might affect your air circulation with it being such a small tent i went for 4 for that reason, plus they will have plenty round to grow, hence i didn't topped them either for the room factor, but yeah let me know how you get on with your 9, here are some pics for you

Cheers for the pics man.My tent is setup basically the exact same as yours, just I dont have a cooltube(considering it tho). My logic for doing 9 plants is that even if I get a smaller yield per plant, I reckon overall Ill still have more bud. Contemplating doing some lollipopping too. Its all trial and error now, Iv a few grows under the belt so I can grow, now Im trying to maximise yield. How much you getting per plant dry on the 4 outta interest?

Ok after a dry run test with no plants Im getting a solid 19-22C (66-72F)...the tent is RIDICULOUSLY reflective too, seriously impressed. Guess Ill have to put some plants in it tomorrow, lol! Will be throwing all the beans directly into the soil, Iv only got 5 Snow White for now, a friend is getting some other seeds (Trainwreck and Pineapple Express) but he's still waiting on them. Looking forward to it all now! Ill post pics of the empty tent tomorrow just for the sake of the journal.

yeah defo go for a cooltube that size of tent i would recommend it to you, just makes it easier when it comes to the summer aswell, i reckon i could get 2 to 3oz a plant not sure though i've never grown bigbud before and this is my first grow, am using a 400w dual spectrum bulb, have a mh for veg aswell, what kinda ah yield you get off snowWhite?

Never grown it before, used to grow Easyryder, averaged 1.5 zippidy a planty.

hey man, thats an awesome grow you got there? is your electricity rigged, if not, you must be paying a fortune!! a just got a grow tent lol, check out my pics, growing 4 big bud, there into there 2nd week flowering yesterday, once i get a bigger house i will start a big grow something like yours, but i would be happy with just doing 15 plants, do you have any advise you could give me on big grows like this, anything to watch or look out for?? thanks

The electricity works out like €34.87 for veg and €23.25 for flower (per month) to run my setup.

Hey man, South Dublin here, hope to throw some pics up today, all five seeds have broken the surface. Not impressed tho, had to pick the seed casings off all of them after they sprouted.

Ok I finally took some pics, not so much of the seedlings (cos they're just seedlings, boring!) but of the setup in general. Enjoy!

Just germinating 4 Zensation seeds by Ministry of Cannabis, a person involved in this grow got them to try out...cant find any information online about them...should be fun!

I dunno if anyone is watching but I planted the 4 Zensation seeds today, the Snow White seedlings are growing nicely, on their second set of true leaves now.

Forgot to mention earlier in the thread; started the seeds in Miracle Grow seed starting soil (its got organic nutes, so their regular time release shite isnt a problem) with 25% perlite...when they're ready to be transplanted Ill be putting them in Biobizz All-Mix with added perlite and using Biobizz Grow, Bloom and Topmax according to their nutrient schedule.

3 of the 4 Zensation seeds have now broken the surface and the Snow Whites are speeding up their growth everyday. Some pics included.

Topped the 5 Snow White yesterday, Zensations are still little seedlings. Will post pics later.
