Dried too fast - Ready For Jars?

Alright, I put my chopped "colas" in my small grow box and kept the exhaust fan on so that the smell would go threw my carbon filter.

Plants were hung 2/8, they were hung at different times in an 8 hour period.
Its now 2/10 and the outside of the buds feel dry/crunchy but the stems are still bendy. With the fan on the box was holding at 32 RH. I turned the fan off this morning because I thought they were drying too fast. Humidity is up to 42RH without the fan.

I'm just curious if it does sound like the fan dried them too fast and I need to get them in Jars or if I should wait for the stems to crack when I bend them?

if the stems dont snap it aint done even if the outside of the bud is crispy. once they go in jars the moisture from the inside of the bud will re moisten the outside.

The fan probably dried out the outside a little too fast. You're fine. Let the stems dry out. Last thing you want is for them to mold over in the jars. Like the guy above said they will soften up once curing.

I once had a cut plant sit around for 2 months, just couldnt get to all of it that fast due to a larger then usual harvest. Still trimmed it up 2 months later, cured, turned out to be some of the best pot I ever had. Was crispy and over dried one day, couple days later we had a humid day and it became nice and pliable again. Just food for thought.

and so you don't make the same mistake, my last harvest I lost around 10oz due to mold. It was crispy just like that, some stems would snap but most didnt I thought I was in the clear. Don't lose your buds, wait an extra couple days

They are perfect, could even use a little more dryness but jar them and allow the moisture to equalize.Burp em every six hours and if need be hang em again.Stem's will snap when they are perfect and if you trimmed em right then the cure will begin.I have a dry ass drying room too, it's cedar and suck's the bud's crispy in 24-48 hr's.Just keep burpin em..

All good thoughts, mainly on the same page ;) Thanks for all the input I'll let them hang and check them again in the morning. Once I feel things are ready I'm putting them in jars with 62% boveda packs and hygrometers. I'll monitor it closely. I've heard of mold with the boveda packs, however a lot of experienced growers swear by them. What I've found, the people getting mold in their jars that blame it on the boveda pack....they didn't dry the plant enough to begin with.

Boveda packs prevent mold and bacteria, if they got mold then it must have been some pretty wet bud. Seems that alot of people always blame the problem on something else they never make mistakes. It's always the breeder the seeds the soil the nutes etc....

Exactly. I have messed up every step of the way. I've also admitted such ;) Making mistakes is the path to learning.

Update: I chopped them down last saturday, they're in jars+hygrometers+boveda 62%. 6 days in and they're only up to 56% RH, I way over dried them. In the future I will cut the stems much shorter, I think looking for the stems to crack when they were 11" long with a 3 inch cola on the end ruined that indicator in my opinion.
