Drip system problem

I can't seem to control the left over water in drip system after pump shuts off... I have the pump on for 1 min a day, and it continues drip feed for another 2-3 minutes without power. What can I do to allow the extra water in main hose to empty out somewhere else rather than my plants? They are becoming overwatered.

Depending on your setup and how your drip is plumbed, you have extra pressure in your main line. Can you show a picture of your setup? If your main line is above your drippers, then it's probably just draining the remainder of the line.

You want some sort of release in the system that drains all the extra liquid that is still in the pipies after the pump goes off.
