driver/strip question

Depends how many you plan on running? It will do 10-11 in series before you max the voltage on the driver. That will give you abit 168watt ( not including drive loss) if I’ve worked it out properly. But I’m still learning myself so could be slightly off

yeah sorry guys its the 2 ft slim version i am looking at
hoping to run it in a 70cmx70cm tent about 5ft floor space

so in this case 14 ? wow that should make a nice spread over 70cm 28"
14 will be fine. Those drivers have some headroom over the rated voltage and should run 15 of those strips, maybe 16.
You'll have very good spread in a 70x70, I've run my gen2 within 3 inches.

The gen2 are a lot cheaper and can run without heat sinks up to about 1000ma, but there's little available right now. I don't know how much current the slim gen3's can take without some type of heat sink. Anyone?

How can you tell what generation strips are?
The generation number is only used by some manufactures like Bridgelux and Samsung. For Bridgelux it's not on the strip, and one needs to look up the part number in the datasheet or other places.
