Droopy leaves before lights out

Has anyone else had a strain that does this before lights out? About an hour or two before lights out the leaves go droopy.

Before you jump the gun and say underwatered or overwatered it's really not the case, as soon as its lights on the girls pluck right back up and look great...

Good ventilation and temps are fine. Has anybody else come across this? It's like they are tired, which sounds fucking stupid

I havent noticed any that do that. I have run strains that reach straight up with the leaves though. I love those ones, praying to the light.

a pic is best before and after,

but yeah mine do, they KNOW the lights going out

so don't prep for it, its no biggy

see it as a form of communication

afterall the same happens in the forest

during the day trees inhale

at night they exhale

good luck

ps go by the wright of the pot come water time

I see that on some of mine sometimes...towards the end of the day, same thing. Has no negative impact that I can see other than droop. They perk up in the morning after the first hour or two...kinda like growing outdoors...they always droop at night...

18 hours is a long time to be in the light for some plants maybe?

I agree, I've seen it with some of my indoor plants and some genetics probably do it more than others.

It's just the plants preparing for sleep time...I have seen them do it 30minuits to an hour before lights out, but never 2.

I know what that is!

It's the plant showing it's light saturated....That's right, plants have a light saturation point.
The midday is when the plants begin to reach this point and they actually begin to change on the cellular peptide level to "protect" it's self from the intense daylight....Photosynthesis declines as do all forms of related growth process's from this. Increased Co2 will delay this process and that's why the use of Co2 increases yield!
Then at night the plant returns to it's early daytime ability to use the intense light till it reach's that saturation point and begins the process all over.

I'll bet you have intense lighting!

Don't believe this - start googling - "Light saturation point in C3 plants" would be a good starting point!

Thanks Doc...here's a couple pics...last night at around the 15 hour point...and this morning at the 2 hour point in photo period.
Should one consider an adjustment of photoperiod? I'm on 17-7 right now...I actually ran 15 - 9 last time (matching my outdoor hours at my latitude on June 21)...I was told when I moved indoors a few years back that 18-6 wasn't necessary, everybody just did it because most everyone else was doing it...

What would your thoughts be on that

Basically you are correct.
You should note that plant growth does not stop after the saturation point, only slows. Longer lights on times does mean more growth.

I don't run 12/12 (in flower) as I see more plant instability as in increased chance of bisexuality (herming) and other light exposure problems.
DJ Short talks about the same thing as I do in his lighting times talks.
