Droopy plant, help please?

Hey,

*You guys are awesome, thanks for all the suggestions.*

so my girls are just under 3 weeks old. I’ve been watering with a very light nutrient mix up until the past 4 waters maybe (every other day) I’ve used 1-2ml per litre of water. The past two times have just been ph’d water though.
I’m growing in canna terra pro plus.

I will add more photos if need be when I get home from work, but as you can see one in the back is droopy. I’ve been giving them 500ml of water.

any ideas would be appreciated, as I have no clue as to why she’s looking sad. She’s been like this for around 4 days :(

this is some in-house genetics, so I really don’t wanna fuck this up!

I would water them to get some runoff with just plain tap. This mix has enough nutrients for weeks so no need to add nutrients yet. Also you do not need to pH your water. This medium grows nice and healthy plants, flowering is not so pink anymore. Good luck!

How come I don’t need to PH the water?
I actually emailed canna about that, they said there is enough nutrients in the soil for two waters.

i watered them before I went to work. Shall I wait till they need watering again?

I watered this morning before I went to work. Should I wait till they need watering again? I’ve got a couple fungus gnats in the other plant, so I don’t really want that to become a problem too by watering again, if you get me.

You should not be watering small amounts too frequently, rather more once per few days untill you get some runoff, than you know the water went through whole pot. Leave it untill you see top layer getting dry and water again, you definitely do not want to let it go bone dry. This medium has lot of nutrients to drag you plant carefree without food through whole grow phase, if potted up when needed. You do not need to pH your water unless it is way too acidic. To combat gnats you drop some sticky traps, proper watering habits and if the infestation is severe than some hydrogen peroxide would be handy. Good luck!

my water is around 7.8 without being PH’d. My understanding is it needs to be ~6.3?

My reason for watering a little bit every couple days is I put the seeds straight into a 10L pot. They will stay in them till the end of their life. So I’ve been watering around the plant as it’s growing. I didn’t want to water the whole thing until run off and them getting water logged

I’ll wait till Friday and give them a nice soak!

Ive got some sticky pads up, caught 3 of the little bastards

i think double check ph pen calibration and lower ph, 5.8 or so, quik search says treat like hydro.

since you are using ph down, most likely your will rise a bit, slowly, after adjusting, which is reason for starting a little below sweet spot

what time of day did you take these pics? looks super healthy so to me i would think it's just normal waking and sleeping droop. if you took these pics early in the morning, they're fine. If you took the pics in the evening near lights off, they're fine it's normal.

i have plants outside in 40s f, leaves are perky. not to say your wrong, I just am not seeing it.

also a bit of leaf curling it looks like

It has much stronger buffer than water alone. My tap is above 8,0 and with full dose of pH down I am able to get it around 6,6 for one day, next day it is above 7 back up. That medium is 5,5 out of bag and can get more and more acidic every watering since the buffer up is lime alone. So pH plain water down has no benefits. You are right about that pH 6,3 but only in case that after you mixing nutrient solution you will get low pH numbers. Than you need to rise it up, but I strongly doubt that with hard tap you will need pH up. If so, you measure amount needed to get your pH up, dump that and start again but begin with that pH up as first to avoid precipiation, nutrients after. You do not want to soak it, just give it water and keep pouring untill first drop runs off, than stop. You do not need to worry about waterlogging since they are big enough to handle full water, just do not soak the whole pot with small amounts of water.

I’ll have a look, it’s a brand new pen and was calibrated 2 weeks ago. Will have to get some more solution. I’ll try a little lower PH :)

I ph my water right before it goes into the pot. I’ll water to run off and test it when they need watering next.

Oh okay nice one mate, I’ll try this and see how it works out for me.

i have been waiting for the top soil to dry out before I’ve been watering again, it’s only my fourth time so I seem to struggle with the first month. Maybe the PH has got super low.

hey those look really healthy dont go messing things up and changing things just cuz one plant has a slight droop. there's a myriad of reasons they could droop but when they look as good as yours, i wouldn't change a single thing. That guy is our resident PH addict....good contributor but a bit of tunnel vision.
