Dry ice in reservoir

Has anyone ever thought of putting a piece of dry ice and their reservoir to carbonate the water help the root uptake co2?

It would look so cool with the fog creeping over the sides of the rez. Do it and post pictures.

I think it would be good to point out the the roots don't care too much about CO2 but you should do it anyways...and post some pics.

Let me double check but I'm pretty sure roots need both o2 and co2. If this is true would it help the plants?

Ok, please explain to me why roots need Co2.
I'm no expert by all means but I thought Co2 was used in the process of photosynthesis.

I can see a way to use dry ice in an RDWC system; drop it in the control bucket and let it help chill the nutrient solution while the CO² vapor gets blown around the room and utilized by the plants.

How expensive is dry ice? CO² is about $8 for a twenty pound refill. How much does twenty pounds of dry ice go for? How much is all that cooling worth, while we're at it?

FWIW, it's going to slightly carbonate the water while chilling the Fuck out of it. My admittedly uneducated guess is the resulting pH jump will do more harm than good.
