What can cause leaves to dry out? my plants are about three weeks into veg, 2.2 ec and 5.8 ph. 70 - 74 degree air, 50 % humidity. I don't think I am overfeeding. . . . I moved my fans farther away from my plants for now . . .

Check your roots man you could have root rot:sad:. I really hope not though, see if they are bright white and healthy or if they are brown and a little slimy. If so you need to add H202 fast. And maybe an enzyme. Again i really hope this isnt what it is. Also nutrient burn can cause it, maybe try adding a little less if they yellow add more. Adding silicon helps the leaves retain water. I assume your using hydro. What kind of system are you using?

Oh also if they are really droopy not dry they could be over watered.

I have been using h202. How much should I use for a 50 gal res? I think I may have watered too much which could cause root rot, correct? I'm using a coco mat, rockwool, and hydroton. How often should I flood?

Did you look at any roots? Color? Anyhow hydroton drains really quick, its also what i use, so i flood 6 times a day for 15 mins. Rockwool in a friggin sponge so 3-4 times if its a smaller cube but usually 3 times a day for 15 mins. Peroxide should be used at about a tsp. a gal, but i have heard of 2 1/2 tsp per gallon. Oh thats for 3% h202 if you use food grade 35% you would only use 1/10th of that. Overwater does cause root rot, and this was the first way i learned about it. Unfortunatly i never saved my plants, so you need to catch it quick. Hope all goes well for ya though.

My roots are white. I'm using 4" Rockwool. The Rockwool is always moist. A lot of my leaves are curling down though. . . . Ima go with one flood a day for ten mins (only takes five to fill) a day for now. I'm not sure what the deal is. . . . .

I dropped my flood to one 15 min per day and they blasted off with crazy growth! I think they were deprived of oxygen. I'm gonna drop my ec to 2.1. I noticed it rose to 2.4 ish but I also think it had to do with evaporation as well as a lil too many nutes. So I learned You don't need to flood that often with the combo of mediums I'm using and I was also underfeeding for a while when I first transplanted them.

Why should I lower my ec if the new growth is healthy and my plants are growing faster? I was having problems previously when my nutes were lower, but It could have also been a nute lockout from not mixing my nutes up enough or my ph got fucked up. I'm going to keep it around 2.1 for the next couple days and see what happens. I only have about a week left of veg till I gotta transition my plants into flowering. I want them to be about a 1.5 ' tall when I flower. My goal is two lbs from 38 plants under my one 1000 watt hps on a light rail.

hmmmmmm. . . . . . . . . Can that make the plants curly and twisty? I don't not know this. What exactly can that cause?
actually I got that wrong-sort of. Excessively high ec levels causes reverse osmosis whereupon the water is drawn out of the plant.

dont think this is what you are experiencing but why not post some pics.

curly and twisty:
-over fert, excessive N levels more likely during seedling and middle to late veg
-heat and mositure stress
-excessive salt build ups
to name a few.

running an ec concentration of 2.1 equates to PPM's somewhere in the range of 1400-1900 depending on which method is used. for 1 foot tall plants, 3 weeks into veg is alot, IMO again.

and you got to let that rockwool dry out sometimes as mich as possible. Some pPlants dont like 'wet bottoms' in hydro

Yep. That's why I've been flooding once a day, to let my rockwool dry out. I think I'm going to lower my ec to 1.7 and raise it .1 every three days? Maybe my nutes are just a tad bit to high.

I changed my flooding to three 5 min floods a day and I'm currently at 1.5 EC and 5.5 PH. You were right, I was over feeding. I hope my plants get even happier!
