Yep, sounds like you are drying too long, or maybe even too fast in that dry desert air. You can burp if ya want, but check into Boveda packs. I dry for 2-3 days (like 60-70% rh here) and into jars with a 62% boveda pack (2 packs, if the jar is almost full) and check for mold after a week, or so, (from the outside of the jars, don't have to open). If you did a decent job inspecting and drying, you shouldn't find any mold. Then just let them cure for your normal 3-4 weeks. I put the jars back in their boxes and stack 'em. No need to burp. It may even be a bad idea to burp, as it lets in non-62% rh air. Sort of defeating the purpose of the humidity packs. Did this with over a pound last grow, and it was an extremely smooth cure. Good smell, taste and little to no harshness
