the only thing a dual arc tube that is beneficial is the life hours... they made dual arc tube lamps for applications that are harder to get to than normal and if one tube fails the other will light up... it is basically like having 2 lamps in one... all the characteristics are the smae as standard lamps so i would just stick with the standard lamps which will save money..you will pay twice as much for the dual arc tube becuase it is like having 2 lamps. Hope that helps...

Not true! The great thing about the dual arc tube is that you have 600 watts of hps and 400 watts of metal halide in one tube thus giving you the full spectrum of color. My yields increased by 25% with more compact, denser buds. The only drawbacks are they put out a little more heat, cost twice as much but well worth it in my opinion. I do believe they only come in 1000 watts also. Hope this helps.
