Dual Spectrum Bubbleponics Questions

I am considering buying the bubbleponics system and am hoping someone can answer my questions about the dual spectrum system.

Has anyone had successful with this lighting system? I read in other posts that I should upgrade to the dual spectrum II lights. Are these enough for the plants?

Do they save money on electricity?

Have folks had success growing with these bulbs?

I see them listed as 4200 lumens as compared with the HPD 430 at 53,000 lumens.

This will be my first grow and I am trying to get the best for my limited budget.

Thanks for any insight in to these questions.

They are just 85 watt cfls off the market. Now that you can get 42w cfls for $5 - $8 each, and double them up with a Y adapter, I see little need for the costly, big, clunky, hard to position 85 watters and larger. If you want to use flouros the hot ticket is t5s overhead with 42w bulbs on the sides.

What is a T5 overhead?
A T5 is a thin flouro tube that is very good as a grow light and comes in 27k and 65k. Overhead just means they are easy to hang in a fixture with chains overhead for top lighting, and cfls are good in clamp reflectors for on the sides. T5s give you more lumens per watt than cfls, and they can be hung on the sides but aren't as easy to position and move as cfls in a clamp.

If you are gonna go with the whole system i would upgrade to Dual Spec II lights. They are big but they do the job. You are gonna need to add more lights thoe and thats where the 42w come in. Keep the 85watters up top above the plants and put mad 42watters around the sides. It easy as that.
