Ducting letting in too much light grow room

I bent the duct into an "s" shape. It let outside light in. I bent it like the letter "w". It let outside light in.

How do I get my exhaust fan + ducting to not let light in. The whole purpose of the ducting was to stop light...

use a deflector vent hood paint it flat black, and the inside of your ducting also flat black.

or simply let your vent exhaust into the dark crawlspace under your house or into a dark attic

I'm working with a closet here, I can't cut holes anywhere and I have no attic or crawlspace. Anyway, doesn't that vent hood seem a bit excessive? I've never heard of anyone needing to get something like that.

Your ducting has small holes in it. Have the opening aimed down not to let sun/light get in. And cover it with panda plastic. If your not worried about a silver W don't think a white square will be a issue. Also add a black stocking over the end. This will help with bugs and some extra light.

paint the inside black before you make a angle

wouldnt the paint crack as soon as he adjust his flexible duct work? i would think duck tape on exterior would be a quick fix

or insulate your duct work

or simply let your vent exhaust into the dark crawlspace under your house or into a dark attic
are bathroom vents ran in the attic or to the exterior? just wondering if it would cause moisture issues in an attic that does not have good air ventilation, easy case of mold imo, but always willing to learn something new

good luck

Cover the inside of the ducting with panda film instead of black spray paint?!!! I can't really imagine the plastic flexing as well as the ducting.

I'm putting the fan on the exterior end of the ducting instead of the side inside the closet, to pull the air out rather than to blow it out. You want me to put a freakin stocking over the fan??

No you build your S use the stocking to cover the opening. Then panda plastic over that. Basically all your doing is covering it like you would your couch. Dosnt have to be prity just light tight. And have a opening for your ducting to suck air thru. Also they do make duct that is lined with black coating already no painting. That would be the cheapest useing what you have. But a nice insalated duct that is lined on the inside would stop the light but is exspencive. You can also use a 1 way duct baffle painted flat black if your using a fan.

Get black ducting, it will cost less than the trouble of trying to paint your silver ducting. Most hydro stores have it.

Damn well my ducting definitely doesn't have any holes in it and I see no purpose of wrapping it in panda film that won't bend properly with it anyway.

Yeah that's what I'm saying I don't get why this guy's telling me to wrap it in panda film and put a stocking on it..
