Ducting Question

Can you cut ducting into smaller pieces? I want to know because I was thinking about buying 6" x 25' aluminum ducting online because it costs less than in the store (which only has shorter lengths) but the thing is im going to be growing in a 2x4x7 grow tent so Im pretty sure i wont need 25 feet of ducting in one piece.

This is a 600W HID project, So i was thinking of cutting it into like 3 pieces and having one piece run from the A/C reflector to the fan/carbon filter exhaust outside the tent.

Then Having another piece running from a tiny duct fan that ill use for intake because i dont think the intake needs to be as powerful

and i might run another piece from the intake fan to the other side of the A/C reflector.

I've ever heard of Ipower before, you should check out ReVolt ballast systems. Here is a link to a 600w kit with just about everything the Ipower kit has for a few bucks cheaper with free shipping. Also below is a link to a thread here on RIU reviewing the ReVolt ballasts from Gotham hydro.

You should probably forget the little duct booster fan. If it does anything, I think it will be slowing down the intake air. They rate those things at high cfm, but that's at no load. With a good exhaust fan pulling on the other side of the tent they get overwhelmed pretty quick. They're really only good at what they are designed for, boosting air flow in long runs of home hvac.
