Hey there experienced growers, I have yet another question. I started growing a bunch of bagseeds about three weeks ago, which are still tiny. They're only on their third or fourth set of leaves, and the biggest leaves are only an inch and a half long. My new super silver haze seeds sprouted a few days ago and they're already closing in on the bagseeds in size.

At first I was really worried I just sucked at growing and that I was doing something wrong...but my setup seems good enough (despite the fact that it's incredibly ghetto). Is it possible the bagseeds are just shit and aren't gonna grow? What would make a seed suck that much? I mean, it came from a bag of weed so I would assume its mom managed to flower...

I bought some seeds from dr. chronic that produced NO RESIN. They were all bunk seeds. I would just take your time> ive had seedlings for quite awhile before they started doing anything.

I'm not an expert but my input may help.
I'm also growing a few plants right now that are about 3 weeks old. I ran out of dirt and perlite, so my last plant is in some recycled dirt, that i mixed cat litter in, I was expecting the cat litter to help with drainage, because I knew i'd be needing to feed the plant a lot. But I wasn't thinking and the cat litter is the clumping kind. So that particular plant is potted in a medium that gets real hard and compact because it collects water, clumps together, and dries into a solid rock.

That particular plant is surviving, it's on it's 5th node, just like all the other plants that i planted in better soil, except it's leaves are tiny, and the plant itself is tiny. The leaves are only like 2 inches long, as compared to like 6 inches on the other plants.

Clearly the problem with my plant is that the soil is crap, it's roots are unable to grow in a rock hard solid mass of cat litter, recycled dirt. I'm not sure how long it'll survive, but if it does it'll be fantastic, cuz it'll be tiny, yet matured.

Perhaps your problem is similar, maybe your medium is not allowing your roots to grow, so your plant stays kind of small, but still matures and develops nodes normally.

That is exactly it,your bagseed has probably been bred to many times. So if your trying to grow 7th or 8th generation seed it won't turn out near as good as say 1st generation. Just like cloning,say if you clone a clone of a clone off a another clone, eventually the genetics will weaken. Seeds are the same way, if you imbreed a plant to many times, the genetics will eventually weaken.
That's why I order my seeds. It's nice to cause you know exactly what you are growing.

Yeah, my soil is just standard topsoil, so maybe it's not draining very well? it seems to be alright though, water starts flowing out the bottom as soon as I water a little bit. And the roots were actually pretty huge for the size of the plant when i transplanted one for a laugh, they reached all the way to the bottom and sides of the party cup
