dumb question: freezing to facilitate drying?

Just curious if it would help to freeze a freshly picked bud before setting it out to dry. I grew tobacco in grad school to harvest tobacco mosaic virus and the method involved freezing the leaves in a deep freezer first to rupture all the cells. Just wondering what would happen if you did that with harvested buds. would it greatly speed up drying? or would the negative consequences outweigh any benefits? maybe a dumb idea. no...I think it likely is :)

It won't facilitate drying. After u take the buds out of the freezer they'll thaw out and you'll still have to dry the buds in the usual way. The essential oils won't be affected because there is no water in them. There isn't a fast and easy way to speed up the drying process.

I would not freeze my pot...just like I won't freeze my cigars (many do to kill any tobacco beetles)....freezing will draw out some moisture from tobacco or pot.....but not to the degree that is required to dry your buds

yeah I kind of guessed that...since I don't recall ever hearing about it. thanks for the comments. I have to say this has been so much fun. I just got a single plant from a friend as a gift and it ended up becoming my favorite hobby :). Great fun!
