Does anyone have a picture or video they could share of how to properly place a seedling in a rockwool cube into the hydroton/water? What percentage of the cube should be in direct contact with the water? I know I should probably add a small base layer of hydroton first and then set the cube on top of that, but how much water should be splashing over the pebbles? Should the air bubbles from the airstone just be popping over them? Should there be a tiny bit of water always making contact with the cube?

I did the following and it has worked for me:

1. pH water to 5.5, then let the rockwool soak. Make sure you do the same with hydroton after a thorough rinse.
2. Fill bucket with water, such that when the net pot is in the bucket, half of it is under water.
3. Fill the net pot with hydroton pretty much right up to the water line.
4. Place the seed (either germinated or just the seed) inside your rockwool and cover the hole with the rockwool material.
5. Place the rockwool on the hydroton. It should sit on top evenly and the water level should be at the bottom of the cube (as if the rockwool is sitting on top of the water. (You may have to add or remove hydroton to get it to sit nicely)
6. Fill the space around the cube.

Note: If you are using a pump, make sure you route your hose through prior to filling it with hydroton.
Also, it's even okay if that water is slightly under the cube, your roots will shoot down to the bottom of your buckets in the first week or two.

I do something similar to what Mothperson suggested.
I use 6" netlids with hydroton and a Grodan Delta 4x4x2.5 cube.
I don't run the water level as high as Moth. I run the level at the base of the basket.
I don't want the cube to stay saturated.
