DWC Black Domina

Hows it going!
This is my 4th grow the others being soil grows. I am attempting my first hydro/dwc set up and could use all the help i can get. And with that out of the way we can get to business.

The plan:
2 black domina clones from the homie
1 400w mh for veg
1 400w hps for flower cooled with a Active Air 6 inch In-Line Fan 400 CFM
1 closet covered in white poly with a poly door and zipper
House and garden Aqua Flakes A and B
House and Garden Drip Clean
4 4in air stones
2 18 gallon rubbermaids rapped with black poly
1 Pet co air pump

This grow is completely experimental strictly for the head stash. I want to have the whole house and garden hydro line by the end of this grow to start my nest grow with. the line i'm talking about includes:
Aqua flakes A& B
Drip Clean
Magic green
Bud XL
Root Excelurator (suppose to be bomb, dumb ass expensive)
Algen Extract
Multi Zen
Shooting Powder


Day 1:
Today i filled my res, added the nutes, 1/4 strenght, A first then added more water then part b, and then the drip clean. Ph the water to just under 6, i believe, i have ph test strips.
Res temp: 60
Temp on top of res: high 82.2 low 70
(temp should lower when i add the cooled hood in to the set up)
humidity: 44%

I filled the water to touch the net cups and i scooped a cup of water over the top of each plants base.

I will add pictures soon. Smoke up in the mean while.

Whats up rollitup, looks like we got some views!
its been about 5 hours of the system running and all seems to be going well.check my ph and its staying right around 5.8 to 6. The res temp is 65.

A few questions...
Anyone use the aquaflakes line?
any trobles?
i want to get the root ex. next, what would people recommened getting for a flower supplement...being HG of course!
Anyone have experience growing black domina? Good too top? or let grow?

Day 11
The plants looking better and i just topped them yesterday. The roots are starting to get long and thick. hopefully post some pictures tonight...

The set up keeps tripping the breaker...i think its an old ballast because i plugged in my other one and it started up no problem.. but the other one is in use.. so in the mean time i have switch it over to a single 4 ft t5, not what i would like but it will get me through veg..

Any body else have problems with old galaxy ballasts?
Also i added a 4in active air fan and my temps still in the 90's?
Ill post pictures later so you can actully see what im talking about..

this is gonna be a nice grow for u gud luck. i heard black domina is some knockout dank. ill watch u and decide f i want em in my next grow. +rep

hell ya dude...i'm sub'd for SURE!!! blackey d is one of the best strains i've had to this day...it comes around my part of the world once a year cuz there is ONE guy in town growin it and he won't get rid of a single clone (jerk) and i kno where he lives and everything but i'm not the robbing type...more of a karma guy...so i'm hopin he gets an accidental hermie long enough to get some seeds in a bud in a bag to me and try and get one pheno...cuz god DAMN i want some domina so bad...such a tasty potent pot...i'm suprised its not considered one of the top strains in the world...or at least written up as so...great work hope it turns out well!!!

check out my journal...lemme kno wut you think!! i could use advice from a soil veteran...i started out hydro so this soil thing is still all new to me...HAPPY GROWING!!!

I grow black-d as well, in coco though. Been doin it a while now.

I find the H&G really treats the strain well, I'm just about to start supplementing with Humboldt County's Own Purple Maxx, which I've also had good results with.

I'd say you should spend your cash on the Bud XL. Not to knock the Roots Excel, but I just didn't find that it made much of a difference in my coco plants. Growth was a bit more vigorous, but the Bud XL really enhances resin production.

I'd recommend topping your plant. The cut that I have responds really well and starts to form 3-6 main colas depending on how you do it. Hit me with a PM if you have any other ?'s.

Yea i already topped them. Went backpacking for 4 days and came back to spider mites, and the shitty thing i didnt expect was they were in the roots...so i washed them off, cleaned and changed the res..got a hot shot no pest strip, sprayed with neem oil.. saw a couple today, way less, but still there, going to wash them again and change the res.. and get some spray from a friend.

WHat do people think of this, is there a way out or should i fog the room and get new clones?

Dude those are root aphids!!! Bummin! Those things are nuclear....Use liquid pyrethrum in the water or your rez when you feed...That takes em out....Take Down from Monterey at 10 ml a gallon or Evergreen...if you can get it....Use the Root Excelurator after to prevent root rot from those little buggers.......Peace
